I've got a script which works in letting me silently push msi's onto a PC on my network, but I cannot seem to get it to work for installing exe's. The exe's tested use the wise installation wizard. Below is my powershell script. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
The program is a simple msi. "This advertised application will not be installed because it might beunsafe. Contact your administrator to change the installation userinterface option of the package to basic" Any reason why? When I go to the ccm cache directory the source file did download, I can install the program from just executing the msi.
Perhaps there is an install program that does the whole thing? I am off to research that now. Apparently Microsoft used to have this available in the download center, but has since removed it. : ( It also appears that even if you have the OCX, it has to be added to the Windows Registry before you can use it.
I am unable to install Dragon Naturally Speaking 12 -- on windows 8 pro 64 bit - for some reason every time I try to install this program when it is almost completed the whole computer freezes, locks up, and I have to manually switch it off and restart it.
If I install the program with compatibility mode however it shows the drives and works great. This package needs to deploy to a thousand W7-x64 machines.I’ve been trying to create a compatibility shim with the Windows Compatibility Manager but it looks like it only makes shims for .EXE’s not an install environment for an MSI.
I have been attempting to install the corporate edition of Symantec Endpoint Protection and keep getting the message it was interupted and it wont install. I have used the troubleshooter and rolled to Vista but it still will not install. It starts and the it rolls itself back and says try to repeat instalation. This version is for windows Vista, both the 32 bit and 64 bit system. Any help ...
=> Also I can install these software from other machines, that means the issue is not coming from the settings server side. I strongly suspect that windows is not allowing me to install new soft from the network ! There must be a security parameter somewhere but I can't find anything in the menus -nor on the web....

I changed the install program to point to a .exe that requires a reboot to test the restart notices configured in the client settings. I received the reboot notice and the count down timer.
